Faisal Kapadia and Zoha Zuberi release seductive song ‘Hum Na Rahay’

Renowned singer Faisal Kapadia from the band Strings has launched a new song, this time teaming up with Islamabad-based vocalist Zoha Zuberi. The track, titled “Hum Na Rahay,” is the second release under Kapadia’s own record label, Twenty-Nine Records. Zuberi wrote the song, while Ali Allahditta handled its production.

The song draws inspiration from the 80s synth wave, creating a seamless and groovy musical tapestry. Zuberi’s vocals take the spotlight, while Kapadia impresses with his smooth and flawless baritone singing. The vocal harmonies, especially in Kapadia’s parts, stand out, showcasing a rare instance of him harmonizing in a higher pitch.

The combination of Kapadia and Zuberi’s voices provides an engaging contrast, making the song captivating. Its catchy chorus, coupled with diverse vocal styles, elevates the composition. Unique vocal effects, though unconventional, add an intriguing layer, highlighting Allahditta’s skilled production.

Despite its musical brilliance, some find the song’s lyrics, which delve into themes of heartbreak and longing, as its weak point. Nonetheless, “Hum Na Rahay” stands as a commendable addition to Twenty-Nine Records’ catalogue.

Zuberi, a self-taught singer, songwriter, and musician based in Islamabad, has transitioned from being a cover artist to becoming an indie sensation. Known for tracks like “Kuch Kehna Chahta Hun Me” and “Take Your Turn” with Umair Ali, Zuberi’s versatility allows her to explore various genres, collaborating with musicians like Jasim Haider and the Pindi Boys.

Kapadia, known for his previous solo release “Jaadu,” continues to make an impact in the music scene post-Strings era. His collaboration with Zuberi not only marks another success for Twenty-Nine Records but also showcases the individual and combined talents of both artists in Pakistan’s evolving music landscape.
