Veteran morning show host Nida Yasir recently appeared on Tabish Hashmi’s show, Hasna Mana Hai, shedding light on various aspects of her 15-year hosting career. She revealed her experiences, including accusations against Waqar Zaka for attempting to undermine her position as a morning show host and her unexpected prominence in meme culture.
Yasir accused Waqar Zaka of actively trying to replace her, running a campaign to sabotage her role. Expressing confusion over Zaka’s animosity towards her, she mentioned their previous cordial relationship on the channel. She shared how Zaka kept pushing the channel’s management through emails to have her removed from the show, despite not understanding the reason behind his actions.
Touching on her unexpected fame in meme culture, Yasir referred to an incident from Shoaib Akhtar’s show earlier in the year. She recounted how she had asked not to be quizzed about cricket as she wasn’t familiar with the sport. However, the first question posed to her was cricket-related, catching her off guard and leading to an unexpected response. While Yasir tries to avoid becoming a meme, she feels scrutinized, particularly given the popularity of morning shows.
Yasir admitted that while online trolling affects her mood, her family encourages her to find humour in it rather than feeling down. Despite this, she admitted her family enjoys the attention she receives from memes.
Regarding her absence from acting, Yasir humorously explained her busy schedule with domestic responsibilities, juggling three children of different ages and a husband who she humorously refers to as another child, leaving her no time for acting pursuits.
